Summary: After a slow start, Hayden’s 1982 Hawkeyes won eight of their last 10 games, finished third in the Big Ten (after being picked for seventh) and beat Tennessee in the Peach Bowl. Iowa finished the season 8-4 (6-2 Big Ten). Reggie Roby was named an All-American Punter by leading the nation with a 48.1-yard average.
