Summary: The Hawkeyes finished with a 17-16 overall record, and finished 7-13 in Big Ten play. They earned the final spot in the 2025 Big Ten Tournament, where they won their first game against Ohio State, but fell to Illinois to end their season. Senior Payton Sandfort earned honorable mention All-Big Ten recognition for the third honor of his career. He finished his career as the best free throw shooter in program history, finishing with an 89.6 free throw percentage. He finished second all-time in career 3-point field goals (271) and 11th in career scoring (1,619).
Iowa had a school-record nine student-athletes earn Academic All-Big Ten recognition. Iowa finished the season ranked second in the Big Ten and 16th nationally in scoring, averaging 82.5 points per game. The Hawkeyes had the best field goal (.490) and third-best effective field goal percentage (.568) in the league. Iowa finished the season leading the Big Ten in assists (18.3) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.87). The Hawkeyes were second nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio and third in assists. Head coach Fran McCaffery was dismissed from the program on March 14, the day following the Hawkeyes’ season-ending loss in the Big Ten Tournament.
