Jon Roehlk      Iowa Wikipedia

Jon Roehlk attended Durant High School and lived in Durant, Iowa. He was being recruited to play football at Iowa by head coach Bob Commings, but when he was fired after the 1978 season, Roehlk considered switching to a smaller school for baseball. When Hayden Fry was hired, assistant coach Carl Jackson got hold of his highlight tape, and received one of the last available scholarships that year.

At Iowa, he played as an offensive lineman in the Rose, Peach and Gator bowls, and was the team captain in 1983, even handling kickoff duties. Jon was named All-Big Ten his last two years.

After college, he played for the Chicago Bears in 1987. Jon went on to play arena football for 10 years for various teams. He was inducted into the Arena Football Hall of Fame in 1999. He also coached for the Quad-City Steamwheelers of the Arena 2 league from 2002-2006.

Born 6/25/1961 and died on 3/13/2016 at the age of 54.
