The Hawkeyes completed 6 or less passes in 11 of the 12 games and only completed 26% of their passes in 1975. They had to rely heavily on the rushing game, that was a bright spot on the team averaging 218 yards per game. Led in the running game by Mark Fetter, Jim Jensen, Rod Wellington, and Dave Schick. The Iowa defense gave up 25 points per game, as well as 223 yards/game rushing, and 116 yards/game passing.
