Bobby Lawson      Ohio

Bobby Lawson attended Libbey High School and lived in Toledo, Ohio. He was honorable mention all-state as a running back his sophomore season, then made all-city his junior and senior season. As a senior, he rushed for over 2,000 yards and scoring 15 touchdowns, and ran a 9.3 yard 100-yard dash. He chose Iowa over many big name schools, since Frank Lauterbur had come from Toledo the year before.

After limited time playing as a freshman, he left the team and moved to Colorado. After a year off, he returned to run track and rejoin the football team in 1975. In 1976, he rushed 18 times for 85 yards.

He also had a very successful track career at Iowa, setting school records in the 60, 100 and 300-yard dashes.
