1969-1970 Iowa Football Year in Review

The spring season started out badly, known as the "Black Boycott" which led to many players being dismissed from the team.

Iowa's offense performed well, and finished 12th in the nation in offense. They averaged 25 points per game, despite racking up over 4000 yards of total offense. Larry Lawrence accounted for 2086 yards on the season, 1680 were passing. Kerry Reardon, led the team in receiving with 43 catches for 738 yards and six touchdowns.

Jon Meskimen, Larry Ely , and Craig Clemons were named second team All-Big ten at guard, linebacker and defensive back respectively. Larry Lawrence , Dennis Green , Kerry Reardon and Jerry Nelson were honorable mention All-Big Ten.
