RECAP

The Hawkeyes were the leading offensive team in the nation heading into the game against Arizona. They started slow but finished with a flurry in the final three quarters, beating Arizona 31-19.

Iowa's high powered offense racked up 561yards on the day, despite gaining only nine yards rushing in the first half. Denny Green had a 70 yard touchdown run, while Larry Lawrence threw a 78 yard touchdown pass to Kerry Reardon . For the second game in a row, Iowa had three 100 yard rushers on the day. Tight end Ray Manning had seven catches for 74 yards and one touchdown.

Craig Clemons had 15 tackles on the day, including several big hits on Arizona receivers. The players gave the defensive coaches including Wayne Fontes, the game ball and threw them in the shower after the game.
