RECAP

Iowa's Tom Smith caught a pass with 24 seconds left on fourth down and almost made it in the end zone. However he was ruled down at the 2 1/2 yard line, and was also ruled short of the first down mark by inches. The play ended Iowa's comeback bid.

The game was lost in the third quarter when Purdue fumbled 4 times inside the 21 yard line, and Iowa was only able to score 10 points out of all of that.

Levi Mitchell, who is from nearby Gary Indiana scored three touchdowns on the day. One was to start the game with a 46 yard touchdown run.
