Big Ten Tournament Champions, NCAA Regional Champions (Final Four)
Summary: After finishing runner-up to LSU last season, expectations were unclear with the loss of Monika Cziano. They did not add anyone to replace her, relying on their current roster. The Hawks continued to play well, and slowly improved, staying highly-ranked most of the season. They kicked off the season with an amazing event, the Crossover at Kinnick, which brought in 55,000 fans for an exhibition against DePaul. The attendance continued to rise from the peak last season, with sellouts in all but 2 games (both home and away games), and ticket prices going for hundreds and thousands of dollars on the resell market. After a few early losses, they finished strong, tied for 2nd in the conference behind Ohio State, but won the Big Ten Tournament for the 3rd straight year, earning a #1 seed and #2 overall ranking at the end of the season. They advanced in the NCAA Tournament to the Final Four for the 2nd straight year, but lost to undefeated South Carolina in the NCAA Championship game.
