NCAA Regional Championship (Final Four)
Summary: They finished with a 23-10 (10-8 Big Ten) record, and reached the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament as champions of the East Region, where they would fall to Louisville, and later Purdue in the 3rd place game. To date, this is Iowa's most recent appearance in the NCAA Final Four in men's basketball. A congressional record was documented on March 20, 1980 by Iowa Senator John Culver to recognize the Iowa basketball and wrestling teams.
