RECAP

Luka Garza scored 23 points and collected 11 rebounds to lead Iowa to a tough victory. He surpassed the late Roy Marble for all-time career points at Iowa (2,116).

CJ Fredrick felt good enough to play, and added 18 points with clutch shooting.

The Hawks led by as many as 13 points early in the game, but fell behind by 5 at halftime. They played much better on defense in the second half, holding Penn State scoreless for 6 minutes, and at one point missed 12 straight 3-pointers. They had 16 turnovers and missed 10 of 22 free-throw attempts to let the Nittany Lions stay in the game.
