Mitchell 'Mitch' Ogiego       

HIGH SCHOOL: Mitchell 'Mitch' Ogiego attended Froebel High School and lived in or near Gary, Indiana. He was a strong football and baseball prospect out of high school, and had an opportunity to sign with the Detroit Tigers.

COLLEGE: He decided to enroll at Iowa in 1953 with his twin brother, Jerry. He left school the following year to enlist in military service. He returned for the 1958 season, where he threw 13 of 27 passes for 177 yards. He was the likely choice to replace Randy Duncan at quarterback for the 1959 season, but he was also eligible for the NFL Draft due to his age.

PROFESSIONAL: He was selected by the Washington Redskins in the 7th Round, and decided not to return to Iowa. He played professional football for the British Columbia Lions in the CFL.
