Curt Merz        

Curt Merz attended Jonathan Drayton Regional High School and lived in Springfield, New Jersey. He earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in 1958 during Iowa's mythical national champion season. In 1959, he earned first-team All-America accolades.

After Iowa, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 3rd Round of the 1960 NFL Draft, and by the New York Titans of the 1960 AFL Draft.

He played seven seasons in the American Football League from 1962–1968. He started for the 1966 AFL Champion Kansas City Chiefs and in Super Bowl I. He also played one season in the Canadian Football League with the 1960 Grey Cup champion Ottawa Rough Riders.

He is a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, and enjoyed a radio broadcasting career in Kansas City and Springfield, Missouri, following his playing career.

Born 4/17/1938 and died on 4/22/2022 at the age of 84.
