In another heartbreaking loss to ranked Ohio State, the Hawks couldn't get a break at the end of the game. Two shot attempts in the last 5 seconds were missed (one looked like a foul against Sydney Affolter).

The Buckeyes found momentum with an 11-2 run in the 1st quarter, and held the Hawks to only 9 points. Iowa rallied in the 2nd quarter with a 10-2 run, highlighted by five points from Heiden, giving Iowa its first lead at 28-26. Ohio State scored a layup at the buzzer to lead by 2 points going into the 4th quarter. The game was back and forth, with the Buckeyes hitting two free throws with 6 seconds left to take their final lead.

Lucy Olsen led the Hawks with 14 points and seven assists, and Hannah Stuelke recorded her second straight double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Affolter also recorded 14 points with four threes (2 late in the game), and Ava Heiden notched her second double digit game of the tournament with 10 points and four rebounds.
