In a crucial Big Ten West matchup, the Hawks defense stuffs the new high-powered Badgers offense, holding them to only 2 FGs in the 3rd quarter. They also forced a QB fumble that resulted in a safety.

Former Badger QB Deacon Hill did not pass the ball often, as Iowa relied on an effective rushing attack to move the football. Leshon Williams shocked the home crowd with an 82-yard TD run to help the Hawks take a 7-0 halftime lead. He ended the game with 174 rushing yards on 25 carries. Rushing the ball effectively is something Iowa has struggled to do in Madison for many seasons.

Special Teams also played a huge part in the win. Tory Taylor averaged over 50 yards a punt, and pinned Wisconsin deep in their own territory. Drew Stevens kicked 2 FGs in the 4th quarter (48 and 40 yards) to make it a 2-score lead and essentially seal the victory.

TE Erick All left the game with an injury and did not return, and may be questionable for the rest of the season. Iowa is playing with its 4th-6th string tight ends.
