Iowa jumped out to a huge lead in the first half, leading 42-22 at halftime. Michigan rallied in the 2nd half to cut the deficit to 56-50, but the Hawks responded to put the game out of reach. The Hawks shot 58% from the field, and had five players in double figures. Kenny Arnold scored 14 points, Vince Brookins and Steve Krafcisin had 13, Mark Gannon had 12 and Bob Hansen added 11 points. It was only the Hawks' second win at Ann Arbor in 10 years, and keeps Iowa tied for 1st in the conference.
