Coming off an upset win over #1 Purdue, the Huskers were ambushed by the Hawks with a blowout loss. Three different Hawkeyes finished with a double-double. Owen Freeman scored a career-high 22 points and collected 10 rebounds. Josh Dix was 5-of-8 from 3-point range, finishing with a career-high 16 points. Tony Perkins set a new career-high with 15 assists and just two turnovers. 15 assists is one shy of the Iowa single game assists record (Cal Wulfsberg, 16 assists vs Ohio State), and he becomes the third Hawkeye in program history to have 15+ assists in a single game. He also added 11 points to secure his first double-double of the season. Payton Sandfort shot 4-of-7 from beyond the arc to go along with 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.

The Hawkeye defense held Nebraska to 4-of-26 (15.4%) from 3-point range. It was Fran McCaffery’s 271st career win, tying Dr. Tom Davis for the most wins in school history.
