RECAP

The 3-seed Hawks fell behind the more athletic 11-seed Miami team, shooting only 36.4% in the first half, including just 2-of-4 from beyond the 3-point line. Iowa was 12 for 12 from the free throw line and was able to keep a 7 point lead at halftime due to good defense that limited the Hurricanes to only 40% shooting. But the Hawks shot 75% (including 3-of-5 from behind the arc) in the second half to extend the lead, and advance to the Sweet Sixteen.

Bethany Doolittle finished with 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks to lead the Hawks. The usual stars Melissa Dixon and Samantha Logic finished with 12 points apiece, and Logic also finished with 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Ally Disterhoft added 15 points.
