The Hawks' poor shooting could not keep them in the game. After falling behind by 12 points in the first half, they rallied back to tie the game at 35, and only trailed by 3 at halftime. But after a 8-1 run cut the deficit to 51-49, Penn State ran off 11 straight points to pull away.

Lindsey Meder led Iowa with 18 points but needed 17 shots to get her five baskets. Randi Peterson had 13 points, 15 rebounds, three blocks and two steals.
