RECAP

The Hawkeyes were amusingly convinced that it was a rabbit that had jinxed the team in their previous game loss against Wisconsin. Before their Wednesday practice for the weekend's Illinois game, the team had a rabbit hunt. Coach Mark Catlin found and shot the unlucky rabbit, and before the game with Illinois, the members of the Hawkeye team rubbed the dead rabbit's left hind foot for good luck. The teams traded field goals and a touchdown in the first half, and the Hawkeyes took a 13-12 lead into the half. Iowa dominated the scoring in the second half, scoring a touchdown on a blocked punt. Iowa went on to win the game 25-12. Iowa outgained the Illini 485 - 270 yards on the day.
