RECAP

The Hawkeyes were dealt a blow before the game even started when it was determined that Ben Synhorst was declared ineligible, because he had received a diploma from Penn College. Iowa started fast however scoring on a Lester Belding touchdown. Unfortunetley it was the only points the Hawkeyes would score on the day. Illinois scored a touchdown in the 2nd quarter on a controversal play. The touchdown play came on an onside kick, which Iowa protested, without success. Illinois would kick what would prove to be the game winning field goal in the 3rd quarter. Illinois won a close hard fought game by the score of 9-7.
