RECAP

It was Iowa's first game on it's new synthetic astro truf field. Roy J. Carver was honored at halftime for his contribution in making the turf possible.

The Hawkeyes did a great job of running on the new turf. Fullback Frank Homes ran for 193 yards, and Dave "the rave" Harris ran for 100 rushing yards and had 21 yards receiving. Holmes scored two touchdowns and Harris had one touchdown. Harris got a penalty when he spiked the ball off the turf after his 61 yard touchdown run.
