RECAP

After punting miscues last week cost the Hawkeyes a game against Illinois. This week the offense scored on it's first seven possessions and didn't punt once all day. The Iowa offense racked up 413 yards, including 336 yards rushing. Ernie Sheeler rushed for 139 yards on 16 carries and two touchdowns.

The Iowa defense was dominant, holding Syracuse to 93 yards and only 6 first downs on the day. Syracuse's only completion came with less than a minute to play in the game.

Tom Coughlin was the offensive coordinator for Syracuse, and Art Monk was a freshman wide receiver for the Orangeman.
