Bret Bielema

After his final playing season in 1992, he was a volunteer undergraduate student assistant in 1993. He became a graduate assistant (GA) in 1994 and 1995, where he worked with the defense and special teams. He was named to the Iowa staff in 1996 as Linebackers coach. When Fry retired, he was retained by Kirk Ferentz through 2001 to continue that role. He left Iowa for Kansas State to become a co-defensive coordinator.
