Dave McCuskey  

He established two great collegiate wrestling programs, both within the state of Iowa, in a coaching career spanning 41 years. In 21 years at Northern Iowa, he produced 102 victories, 31 losses and 7 ties, including a National Collegiate team championship in 1950 and national amateur titles in 1949, 1950, and 1951, and 4 times were runners-up. From 1947 to 1952, the Panthers dominated national championships, placing no lower than fourth place

He took over at Iowa in 1952, and spent 19 seasons building up the Iowa program, and ended with 160-69-7 record through the 1972 season. He was named national coach of the year in 1969.

He was coach of the 1956 Olympic team, and was inducted into the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1973. In 1976, he became a Distinguished Member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, and he was inducted into the UI Athletics Hall of Fame in 1992.

Born 9/4/1907 and died on 1/31/1985 at the age of 77.
