Iowa survived 3 early 1st quarter fumbles to punch in a touchdown to take a 6-0 lead on Northwestern. Sammy Gross scored on a trick play that is documented in the attached article by jewsinsports.com. Gross, took the ball from center and pretended to argue with the officials, while walking by the Northwestern defenders, who left him alone because he was arguing with the ref. After he was past the Northwestern defense he took off with the ball making a large gain for an Iowa touchdown.
