Summary: In Jan Jensen's second season, Iowa surpassed expectations by finishing 27-7 overall and 15-3 in the conference. Jensen was named a Naismith Coach of the Year Semifinalist. Iowa earned the 2nd seed in the conference tournament, and advanced to the championship game, but was blown out by #2 UCLA (the eventual national champion). They earned a host bid for the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. They defeated FDU in the first round, but fell to 10th-seeded Virginia in double overtime. The team finished ranked #16 in the AP poll.
Ava Heiden earned honorable mention All-American and 1st Team All-Big Ten. Hannah Stuelke was named second-team All-Big Ten, and Chit-Chat Wright earned third-team honors. Kylie Feuerbach was tabbed to the all-defensive team. Addie Deal was named to the coaches’ all-freshman team and Taylor McCabe was Iowa’s sportsmanship award recipient.
