Lloyd 'Buck' Humphreys       

Lloyd 'Buck' Humphreys attended Calumet High School and lived in Chicago, Illinois. He was president of his HS senior class. He was recruited by several schools and chose Auburn University. After a few weeks at Auburn, he withdrew and later enrolled at the University of Iowa.

He was the first recipient of the Coach Forest Evashevski Football Academic Achievement Award. He was a Kick Off Magazine All-Midwest first team selection, and played in the North-South Shrine Game.

After Iowa, he enrolled in the UI Law School, where he earned a J.D. degree cum laude with distinction in 1963. He was a Ford Foundation Fellowship recipient in 1963. He was a Distinguished Military Graduate of the Iowa ROTC, and was commissioned in the Army Judge Advocate General Corps. He was the first lawyer who volunteered for duty in Viet Nam, where he served as a JAG Captain. He practiced law in Cedar Rapids for 25 years and another decade in Dallas TX and Eugene, OR. In Oregon, he served as an attorney for Governor Mark Hatfield.

Born 3/8/1938 and died on 3/18/2010 at the age of 72.
