Bill Green       

Bill Green attended Newton High School and lived in Newton, Iowa.

In 1939, he rushed for 232 yards on 70 carries and had 3 interceptions. He also caught a dramatic 28-yard touchdown pass from Nile Kinnick with three minutes remaining to lead the Hawks to a 13-9 comeback victory over Minnesota.

In 1940, he had 3 touchdowns in a 30-12 victory over Wisconsin, and was the entire offense in a 7-0 shutout of unbeaten Notre Dame. In 1941, he struggled with a broken finger, but didn't miss any games.

In his career, he left with 1,135 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns
