Mike Flagg        

Mike Flagg attended Cedar Falls High School and lived in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He had the rare distinction of being an all-state athlete in football, basketball and baseball and was also the state champion in the shot put. He finished with 33 receptions for 543 yards and seven TDs to earn consensus first-team all-state and All-American honors from two national publications. For his prep career, he averaged more than 16 yards per reception. After redshirting in his freshman year, he was a four-year starter at tight end. He caught 86 passes for 1,187 yards and 13 touchdowns, including 18 catches for 285 yards and two touchdowns in four bowl games. He had 13 career touchdown catches and 86 career receptions. A co-captain of the 1987 squad, he was a two-time Second Team All-Big Ten selection and played in the Hula and Japan Bowls. He was also a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
