Bobby Diaco attended Cedar Grove High School and lived in Cedar Grove, New Jersey.

COLLEGE: He was a two-time All-Big Ten selection as a linebacker and was named the team’s co-MVP in 1995, starting in all 23 games over his junior and senior seasons. He led the Hawkeyes in tackles in both 1994 and 1995 and finished his career as the seventh-leading tackler in Iowa history with 334 career stops. Along with starting every game as a junior and senior, Diaco saw action in every game as a freshman and sophomore, never missing a game in his Iowa career.

OTHER: He stayed on as a graduate assistant at Iowa in 1996, then had numerous assistant coaching positions with Western Illinois, Eastern/Western/Central Michigan, Virginia, Cincinnati, and Notre Dame. In 2012, he won the Broyles Award, presented to the top assistant coach in the nation. He was named head coach at UConn in 2014. He later joined Nebraska as defensive coordinator in 2017, and has since coached at Oklahoma, Louisiana Tech and Purdue.
