HIGH SCHOOL: Pryce Sandfort attended Northwest High School and lived in or near Waukee, Iowa. He was named 2023 Iowa Mr. Basketball after averaging 24.9 points, 11 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.7 blocks and 1.7 steals as a senior. He finished his career with 1,695 points and led his team to the Class 4A State Championship game. He led Class 4A in points, blocks, field goals made, 3-pointers made, free throws made and defensive rebounds, and ranked second in total rebounds in 2022. As a team captain, he led his to team to the state quarterfinals as a junior while averaging 26.2 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.9 blocks, and shooting 52.6 percent from the field (40.5 percent from 3-point range and 89.2 percent from the foul line). He earned first-team all-state (4A) and all-conference honors as a junior. He helped his team to the state championship in 2021 as a sophomore, averaging 7.8 points. 2.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 0.7 blocks per outing, shooting 56 percent from the field — including 50 percent from 3-point territory — and 79 percent from the foul line. He was a three-time academic all-state.

COLLEGE:

As a sophomore, he showed much more confidence and skill, and came off the bench in 31 of his 33 appearances, and scored at least eight points in 22 games. He had 16 points and 11 rebounds in Iowa's regular-season finale win against Nebraska to secure a spot in the Big Ten Tournament.

As a true freshman, he played in 32 games, averaging 2.3 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. He shot 35.6 percent (26-of-73) from the field and 34.7 percent (17-of-49) from 3-point range, with 17 of his 26 field goals were 3-pointers.

OTHER: He played two seasons with his brother, Payton Sandfort.
