HIGH SCHOOL: Becca McCann attended Freeland High School and lived in or near Saginaw, Michigan. She was an all-State selection in 1997-98 and was named the Midland Daily News Player of the Year as a junior. She was named her team’s MVP her sophomore and junior seasons. She earned all-Conference and all-Area first team selection in 1997 and 1998 and was captain of her basketball team that was crowned Michigan State Champions her junior year. She was named to the Saginaw News Dream Team in 1997 and 1998. She was an all-American and all-State selection in 1999 and was named the team’s Best Defensive Player, Most Improved Player and recorded the most rebounds. She also lettered in volleyball and track and field. She holds four basketball and two track and field records (rebounds in a game - 29, points in a season, rebounds in a season, total career rebounds, shot put and discus) and was a state champion in the discus and placed fifth at the Michigan State meet as a junior. She was an all-Area and all-Conference first team selection in volleyball.
