Mary Berdo        

HIGH SCHOOL: Mary Berdo attended Washington High School and lived in or near Washington, Iowa. She helped her school twice qualify for the state tournament (1994 and 1996). She was the first Iowa prep to score 2,000 career points in the five-player era, finishing with 2,206. She was a first team all-state player for three years from 1994-96.

COLLEGE: After her freshman season, she stepped away from the program, but returned for her two final seasons. During her senior year, she averaged more than eight points per game and helped lead Iowa to a Big Ten title and NCAA tournament appearance. She finished her career with 457 points in three seasons of playing.

OTHER: She was inducted into the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Hall of Fame. In 2018, the Des Moines Register named her as one of the ‘Top 50 Best High School Basketball Players” in the state.
