Ed Banach        

HIGH SCHOOL: Ed Banach attended Port Jervis High School and lived in or near Port Jervis, New York. Ed won a New York state championship in 1978, and finished with a 97-8 record in his high school career.

COLLEGE: Ed was a 3 time NCAA champion, while finishing second to a future Olympic gold medalist his junior year. He also was a 4 time Big Ten champion. His first 3 years he wrestled at 177 pounds, but wrestled his senior season at 190 pounds. He finished with a record of 141-9-1, while pinning half over half of his opponents (73). He was named Big Ten Athlete of the year in 1983.

PROFESSIONAL: Ed went on to wrestle for the US Olympic team, winning the gold medal at 90kg, during the 1984 Olympic games.
