Darian Cooper        

Darian Cooper attended Dematha Catholic High School and lived in Elkridge, Maryland. He was named all-metro and metro defensive MVP in Baltimore area as a senior. He was named first team all-conference and all-state as a senior, and second team all-state as a junior. He earned third team all-conference honors as a center during junior season and was named team defensive MVP as a senior. He holds single game school record with five QB sacks and recorded 10 QB sacks, four forced fumbles and three pass break-ups as a senior. He collected 12 QB sacks and two pass break-ups as a junior and had eight QB sacks as a sophomore.

He arrived at Iowa in 2011 and redshirted. In 2012, he played in all 12 games and started two, where he recorded 34 tackles with 3.5 for loss. As a sophomore, he played in all 13 games, but had significant knee pain, and had surgery in August 2014 and was out for the season. He was named to the 2015 Leadership Group. He wasn't medically cleared until the final weeks, but got one play in the final regular season game.
