He earned first team all-state honors and was team captain as a senior, and first team all-conference and all-suburban on both offense and defense as a junior and senior, along with first team all-conference on defense as a sophomore.

At Iowa, he had 2 catches for 14 yards, and earned a scholarship his senior season after walking-on. He was twice named Academic All-Big Ten (2016 and 2017)
