Jefferson Bates       

HIGH SCHOOL: Jefferson Bates attended Irmo High School and lived in or near Irmo, South Carolina. He passed for 1,676 yards as a junior, and 1,880 yards as a senior. He was named SuperPrep 2nd Team Mid-Atlantic, and was ranked the 5th best QB by Max Emfinger. He was named to the all-state team, and was a two-time captain and team MVP. He started at QB in the Carolina All-Star game. He chose Iowa over Florida State, LSU, and Georgia Tech,

COLLEGE: As a freshman, he was named Offensive Scout MVP for the Minnesota game. He played sparingly as a QB during the 1993 and 1994 seasons, completing 4 of 5 passes for 20 yards. He was the primary holder on FGs during those two seasons.

OTHER: He passed away on October 21, 2019 after a long battle with cancer.

Born 9/7/1971 and died on 10/21/2019 at the age of 48.
