Scott Thompson        

Scott Thompson attended Moline High School and lived in Moline, Illinois. He averaged 16.9 points per game and twice earned first-team all-state and all-conference honors. He lettered 3 times in basketball and track. He decided to attend Iowa over Illinois and Duke.

He averaged 19.5 points per game and earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in helping Iowa to a 19-10 record. He was drafted in the 1976 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons.

He was an assistant coach at Iowa from 1980-1983, then followed Lute Olson to Arizona when he left Iowa. He later became a head coach at Rice, Wichita State and Cornell University.

In 2020, he was inducted into the Quad-City Sports Hall of Fame.
