Leonard Raffensperger

Leonard Raffensperger attended Victor High School in Victor, Iowa. He did not play high school football, but he tried out for the football team at the University of Iowa and made the squad. He was a reserve lineman but did not see much playing time on the football field. He suffered a career-ending knee injury in a 12-10 victory over Illinois, but his playing career at Iowa was over.

He also played basketball, and earned a letter as a sophomore in 1924–25.

He came back to Iowa as an assistant football coach, then was named head coach from 1950-1951.

Born 11/6/1903 and died on 9/19/1974 at the age of 70.
