Floyd Magnusson       

Floyd Magnusson attended Fort Dodge High School and lived in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was a two-time all-state basketball player.

He was a four-year letterwinner in 1944, and again 1947-49. He served in the Navy during World War II, and did not play in the 1944-45 and 1945-46 seasons. He tied with the most starts for the Hawkeyes (19) in 1948.

His son, Jim Magnusson, was also a Hawkeye basketball player, lettering in 1976.

He officiated NCAA basketball for 16 years, including the title games of the 1959, 1966, and 1969 Final Four Tournaments.

Born 8/8/1925 and died on 4/16/2011 at the age of 85.
