HIGH SCHOOL: Jonathan Babineaux attended Lincoln High School and lived in or near Port Arthur, Texas. As a senior he was named a first-team All-Conference at linebacker. He also handled the punting duties, averaging 40 yards per punt.

COLLEGE: He played in 11 games as a true freshman during the 2000 season at Iowa at full back, where he had 2 rushes for 12 yards and 1 reception for 4 yards. He also returned 4 kicks for 22 yards. He redshirted in his second season after injuring his leg and used the time off to move to defensive line. He was a key contributor on the 2002 team, then missed the 2003 season because of another injury. His senior season he started at defensive tackle and was a first team All-Big Ten selection, and a 3rd team AP All-American. He played on 2 teams that shared a Big Ten Championship in 2002 and 2004. He finished his Iowa career with 131 tackles (39 for loss), 19 sacks, 24 quarterback hurries, one interception, two pass deflections, four fumble recoveries, and five forced fumbles.

PROFESSIONAL: He was drafted in with the 2nd round with the 59th overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons. He spent all 12 years of his NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons. He retired after playing in Super Bowl LI, where he recorded one assisted tackle. He finished his NFL career playing in 185 games (131 starts), recording 394 tackles (91 for loss), 27 sacks, and scored 2 defensive touchdowns.
