Dan Frost attended Millikan High School and lived in Long Beach, California. He started at Long Beach City College, and transferred to Iowa after his former coach Lute Olson accepted the job. At LBCC, he was named to the California all-junior college team and elected most valuable player in the conference.

At Iowa, he was named team MVP and was an All-Big Ten selection in 1975. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1976 NBA draft in the 4th round.

I think my biggest asset was that while I was growing I didn't lose my quickness.
