Robert 'Bob' Clifton       

HIGH SCHOOL: Robert 'Bob' Clifton attended Boone High School and lived in or near Boone, Iowa. He led his team to the state championship tournament, but fell short of the title. His coach was Bucky O'Connor, who would later become Iowa's head coach. He was a unanimous first team All-Central Iowa Conference player, who led that league in scoring while setting a new school scoring record of 471 points. The Des Moines Register and the Iowa Daily Press Association both named him a first team all-stater and he was also named to the All-State Tournament team.

COLLEGE: He was known as very fiery and super aggressive on the basketball floor and, probably, due to that style of relentless play. He set a school record in 1951 with 9 of 12 shooting (75%). In his senior season, he was named an All-American by Look Magazine.

PROFESSIONAL: He was drafted by the Fort Wayne Pistons in the 1952 NBA Draft, but served two years in the ROTC and did not play professionally.

Born 9/5/1930 and died on 5/22/2002 at the age of 71.
