I would say academic played a big role in my selection. The main reason I'm here is to get my degree, so I wanted to pick a school that had a good, solid reputation. The entire Big Ten Conference had a good reputation, but Iowa especially has a little bit higher standard. I was particularly interested in business, and the business school here stood out. The business school facility is brand new, and the faculty is impressive. Iowa seemed to have everything I was looking for, and since I've been here, everything has held true. It looks like I'm going to graduate early, be able to get me bachelor's degree while I still have eligibility, I feel like I've gotten the best education I could get anywhere. The Pappajohn Building was just completed the year before I came to Iowa. On my visit I remember the tour of the building, the computerization of the classrooms, it was pretty impressive. That did have an influence on my decision. I talked to Fred Mims when I was being recruited. He said as long as I stuck to a solid academic plan, he would give me support as far as a summer scholarship and that type of thing. He's done that and helped a lot. It's a reason I'm probably going to be able to graduate early. The coaches were very genuine, it didn't seem like they had anything to hide. They were very open. Something about the people of Iowa in general, the coaching staff here, the overall program, that was a little different from other places. I just liked the way Coach Fry ran the entire program. Very positive, we're going to work hard. If you make a mistake, you're going to hear about it, but it's not the end of the world. Everything is about getting better.
