Matt Purdy         

HIGH SCHOOL: Matt Purdy attended Cedar Falls High School and lived in or near Cedar Falls, Iowa. He was the first player to repeat as Des Moines Register elite first team all-state selection in Iowa, and was named all-American by Super Prep, Blue Chip, Street & Smith and Prep Football Report. He was also named to the Big Eight Conference Lineman of the Year. He totaled 58 tackles, one sack and one interception and had a school-record 69 knock downs against defenders and graded 73 percent for the year. During his senior year, he recorded 69 pancakes, 60 tackles, 20 assisted tackles. He was also an undefeated heavyweight wrestler.

COLLEGE: He was named 2nd Team All-Big Ten in both 1993 and 1995, and was named honorable mention in 1994. He participated in the Hula Bowl after the 1995 season.
