He had 127 tackles, 10 sacks, 1 interception and 3 fumble recoveries as a senior, and named to the All-American team by SuperPrep, earned 2nd team all-state and first-team all-conference. As a junior, he had 78 tackles, 6 sacks and 3 fumble recoveries and was named second team all-conference. He also competed in track and basketball. He chose Iowa over Notre Dame, Purdue, Illinois and Missouri.

COLLEGE: He was named a co-captain as a senior and lead the Hawkeyes to a 9-3 record. He dedicated the 1996 season to his father and uncle, whom both passed away during the offseason before his senior year.
