HIGH SCHOOL: Nick Gallery attended East Buchanan High School and lived in or near Masonville, Iowa. He was a first-team all-state as a punter after averaging 44 yards per punt, and also earned recognition on district teams at running back and placekicker. He also led the team in tackles his senior year with 63 and was the team captain. He chose Iowa over Iowa State, Northern Illinois, UNI and the Air Force Academy.

COLLEGE: He broke Reggie Roby’s school records for career punts and punting yardage, and booted four kicks that rank among the top 20 in Hawkeye history. He punted 179 times in 45 games and finished with a 42.9 career average, and 44.5 yard average his final two seasons. He was named 2nd team All-Big Ten as a freshman, and twice named 1st Team All-Big Ten his junior and senior season.

PROFESSIONAL: He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs after college, and later signed with the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins on the practice squad. He appeared in one NFL game in 1998 with the Jets, booting six punts for a 39.7-yard average. He later played in NFL Europe with the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe and was drafted in the 2001 XFL draft by the Las Vegas Outlaws.
