Dan McGwire attended Claremont High School and lived in Claremont, California. He initially enrolled with the Hawkeyes out of high school. He started against Tennessee in the Kickoff Classic in 1987.

After limited playing time in two seasons, he transferred to San Diego State University.

He was a first-round draft pick (16th overall) to the Seattle Seahawks in 1991 and went on to play for five seasons in the National Football League (NFL), from 1991 to 1995.

Born 12/18/1967 and is 58 years old.
