Rodney Rogers scored 33 points, including 12 of Wake Forest's final 19, as the Demon Deacons beat Iowa, 84-78, during the second round of the NCAA Southeast Regional on Sunday. Iowa came into the game with the best rebounding margin in the nation, but Wake Forest out-rebounded the Hawkeyes, 26-20. The Demon Deacons held Iowa star Acie Earl scoreless over the last 7 1/2 minutes while Wade Lookingbill, who finished with 15, didn't score during the final 11 1/2 minutes.

Prior to the game, the Hawkeyes retired Chris Street's #40 jersey and announced that an Iowa Farm Scholarship and the Chris Street Spirit award will be created in his name (ceremony shown in full game video).

In the first half, the Hawkeyes seemed to be headed toward their second-straight home upset of a 1992 Final Four participant, leading by 10 at 24-14. Indiana ran off 10 straight points to tie the game. The teams continued to see-saw in the second half, with Iowa's last lead coming at 62-61. Indiana hit 10-12 free throws, and Iowa struggled from 3-point range. Acie Earl led the Hawks with 16 points.

Sadly, this was Chris Street's final home game before his death on January 19th. The Hawkeyes used a Carver-Hawkeye Arena record 39 free throws and a 40-20 edge on the boards to defeat the 19th-ranked Gophers. Acie Earl led the way with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Val Barnes scored 16 points and Street added 14 points and 11 rebounds.

A 10-0 run over 4:05 gave Iowa a 50-41 lead from which it never gave up. Freshman guard Mon'ter Glasper led Iowa with four assists in 14 minutes of action, while Kenyon Murray scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half.
